In an email sent to the parents of high school students Sept. 21, the Sarasota County School Board announced that high school students will not be receiving paper copies of their progress reports this year. Elementary school students, however, will continue to receive a printed copy.
As in past years, parents and students can see a student’s current grades at any time in the year through the Parent Portal under the Assignments tab. The portal also now provides a digital copy of a student’s transcript. This shows a student’s grades in all the classes he or she has taken while at Pine View.
This change follows the trend of switching to digital versions after the district gave parents the option to receive quarterly report cards through the Parent Portal rather than through a physical copy. Through the Miscellaneous tab, parents are able to opt to have a printed copy of the report card.
