A welcoming and great environment to enjoy the most important meal of the day is key and Keke’s Breakfast Cafe provides this. The restaurant serves a fun variety of waffles, pancakes and french toast as well as the breakfast classics.
The restaurant is quite big and is filled with a maze of booths, and large windows to the sides of the room provide great lighting in the morning and illuminate the area. Each booth has its own light fixture and huge paintings of different fruits such as pears, apples and grapes, which give a whimsical and artsy feel to the restaurant. The atmosphere is loud and open but the separation of booths gives restaurant-goers a sense of privacy and the welcoming feeling allows patrons to eat in peace and have a nice time with a group of friends or family. Keke’s Breakfast Cafe prides itself on having a friendly and caring staff.
Keke’s isn’t just known for its great staff and atmosphere but also its fun and tasty menu of waffles, pancakes and french toast. They offer eleven different specialty waffles including the banana, caramel and pecan waffle, which is a warm waffle topped with gooey caramel, fresh bananas, toasted pecans and all under a big serving of whipped cream. They also serve the banana split waffle, a deconstructed banana split on top of a waffle, and the cinnamon-apple waffle, a cinnamon sugared waffle topped with a warm apple topping. Their pancake selections are just as tasty as their waffles, with eight specialty pancakes to choose from. The waffles and the pancakes have very similar flavors but differ by the granola crunch pancake, a fluffy pancake cooked with granola on the inside and then topped with fresh bananas. The french toast that is served at Keke’s is filled with lots of flavor, literally. They have stuffed french toast that comes in six different options and four regular french toast flavors. The restaurant offers different fruits like blueberries, piña colada fruits and raspberries stuffed in the french toast along with cream cheese.
For those without a sweet-tooth, Keke’s also offers a wide variety of omelets, poached eggs and other egg dishes. The menu offers fifteen different types of omelets including the greek omelet, with with spinach, feta and tomatoes and the western omelet, which includes ham, peppers and onions. The poached eggs are served with english muffins and toppings such as bacon or tomatoes. The other eggs can be made however the customer pleases and can be sided with anything, including home fries, toast or a fruit salad.
Keke’s Breakfast Cafe is not just known for its breakfast but also for its lunch menu. The menu includes sandwiches, burgers, wraps, salads, paninis, burgers, B.L.T’s, tuna melts and chicken caesar wraps. They also serve house specials such as the sesame chicken wrap, a wrap with chicken, crispy noodles, lettuce, sesame seeds and a sesame dressing.
Keke’s Breakfast Cafe is a wonderful place to spend some time with family or friends, while trying different spins on some American Classics. This new restaurant joint has recently opened on University Parkway and will soon be open on the corner of Clark Road and Beneva Road.
