For her work during the 2016-2017 school year, front office secretary Marianne Leto has been selected as Pine View’s School Related Employee of the Year. Leto, who has played an integral part in Pine View’s administration department for four years now, will be representing Pine View in the district selection process to decide the district winner.
Classified coworkers of Leto filled out the form to nominate their peers members, and from those nominations two nominees were named, including Leto herself. After that, another vote was conducted, and Leto was chosen. “I was very excited and very surprised. I feel like there are a lot of people worthy of the title,” she said. This is Leto’s third time to be nominated for the title, but the first time she has received the recognition while working for Pine View. Previously, she was nominated twice while working at Phoenix Academy.
On Leto’s recognition for her work, attendance clerk Maureen Borden said, “She’s just always upbeat when she answers the telephone.”
Leto will be attending a luncheon in April 2017, where she will go through the district selection process. Each school in the Sarasota District selected an employee who will be attending the luncheon. Last year, Betsy M. Hooper, bookkeeper at Pupil Support Services/State and Federal Projects/ESOL, won the position out of the entire Sarasota District.
“[Pine View] is a good learning experience, and it’s very different than the school I came from. It’s very customer service oriented and I like it,” Leto said.
