Netflix has recently released and plans to air lots of new and different shows and movies online. Here are a few must-see television shows and movies that have gotten a lot of attention.
Captain America: Civil War
“Captain America: Civil War” was released to Netflix just before the New Year. This movie follows the clashing opinions of two superheroes regarding the of the government’s interference in their lives. Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. star in this action film.
The Parent Trap
Forget Lindsay Lohan. The original “Parent Trap” from 1961 was recently added to Netflix. It stars Hayley Mills playing both twins alongside Maureen O’Hara and Brian Keith. This film also had three sequels and was based on the German Book Lottie and Lisa. It was also nominated for two Academy Awards.
Nancy Drew
In this 2007 remake Emma Roberts plays the charming Nancy Drew. In the film her father and herself travel to Tinseltown to try and solve a Hollywood murder mystery.
The Bee Movie
“Ya like jazz?” A favorite among audiences, the “Bee Movie” was also recently added. This movie follows a bee named Barry (voiced by Jerry Seinfeld) as he travels outside the hive for the first time and meets a florist named Vanessa, who he quickly falls in love with.
E.T. The Extra Terrestrial & His Adventures On Earth
A classic film from Steven Spielberg, “E.T.” is a film from 1982 where a boy named Elliot (Henry Thomas) befriends a small extra-terrestrial that he calls E.T. Elliot tries to get E.T back home all the while keeping him safe from the government who is out to get E.T.
A Series of Unfortunate Events
A popular book series written by Lemony Snicket has now come to Netflix as its own show. The series stars Neil Patrick Harris, Malina Weissman and Patrick Warburton. The plot is based on that of the books, in which three orphaned children are sent to live with a mysterious distant relative after their parents die in a fire.
Frontier stars notable actors including Jason Momoa from “Game of Thrones,” Landon Liboiron, Alun Armstrong, Jessica Matten, Zoe Boyle, and Allan Hawco. This film centers around an outlaw in the 1700s during the height of the lucrative North American fur trade.
