Over 25 Pine View students attended the 38th annual Florida High School Model United Nations States (FHSMUN States) conference March 6 through 9. There, Pine View’s Model UN team saw several individual and team successes.
Students left for Altamonte Springs Friday, March 3 and spent four days competing in various committees of the United Nations, including the World Health Organization, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and more, exercising their skills in debate, public speaking and diplomacy.
Pine View’s team scored several awards, including individual Outstanding Diplomat awards as well as team awards. Students competed in teams, with multiple members representing a single country across several committees. Awards received are as follows.

Members: Ninth-graders Ben Covert, Stefani Wald, Kemper Bernstein, Hannah Sticht, Brett Martinez and tenth-grader Kailin Huang
These awards place Pine View’s Model UN team as one of the best in the state. Anacki, who is also the vice president of the club, said, “It was wonderful to see our delegates continue to grow in their skills at [FHSMUN]. We are so proud to continue to be one of the best MUN teams in the state.”
