Pine View students took part in a series of fun and educational activities during the annual Earth Day celebration on Friday, March 24. The purpose of this event is to inform students across campus of recycling programs available at their school and the importance of keeping the Earth clean and being green. The events ran from fifth to seventh period, and all students were welcomed to this event during their lunch period. Several clubs and teachers helped to conduct these activities, but science teachers David Yotsuda and Beverly Templeton played key roles in organizing the day’s events. Sustainability clubs set up booths throughout the quad. For example, the SWAT booth had a game where participants could view two real pig lungs: one healthy and one with chemicals to resemble the lungs of a smoker. See a gallery of today’s events in the pictures attached.
