Why are you running?
“I’m running for class office because I want to make sure our class office doesn’t crash and burn, we can raise lots of money, and so our class office can have fun. We have to make sure that we have dedicated officers that do their job, and I will do my job.”
What do you hope to accomplish if you win?
“As a class officer, I would like to help our class raise money and volunteer. But as Principal’s Council Rep. I would attend every meeting, do my duties, and keep up with everything.”
Tenth grade
Nathan Turoff – “Voice of the Students”
Why are you running?
“I’m running because of the students. Every day I see the administration make decisions, with no regards to what we, the students think. The Principal’s Council Representative is a position of direct contact with the principal. If I were elected, I would ask students about what they truly think about things here at Pine view, and in turn, inform Covert of how certain things are felt among students.”
What do you hope to accomplish if you win?
“I hope to accomplish student’s opinions getting taken into account on all school issues. This is our school, our education, we should have say on what decisions are made, and I hope to achieve that for not just my class, but for all students.”
What is something new you hope to bring to the table?
“I have been a bit of an outsider all of my life. While most people don’t know this about me, I become a very profound voice when it comes to decision making, and I hope to use this to make sure your opinions are known to not just the principal, but to all admin.”
Eleventh grade
Sy Schimberg – “Don’t ask why, vote for Sy.”
Why are you running?
“I’ve been in class office for three years now and not once have I ever been allowed to give a speech. I’d really like to give a speech. I’m running because I’ve really enjoyed being in office, and senior year is going to be an extremely fun year for officers as we’ll be able to plan many fun events and make the most of our last year. I’m looking forward to the last year with the class of 2018 and Mrs. Braun and Mrs. Flahavan.”
What do you hope to accomplish if you win?
“It’s been an honor to work with Flahavan and Braun and the rest of the class for four years, being able to make a speech would put an exclamation point on a four year sentence that is currently concluded with a period.”
What is something new you hope to bring to the table?
“On a serious note, I’d like to say thank you. Being involved in the class does, in all seriousness require work and sometimes it can be laborious. But this class has made these three years extremely worth it and I’m extremely excited to make this last year an awesome one.”
