A sea of black, green, pink and orange was seen across Pine View’s fields Friday, signifying the annual Pine View Dodge Ball game and the final activity of Spirit Week. After a week of friendly but fierce competition, the Seniors took home the top spot, followed by the Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen, respectively.
Let’s take a look at this year’s Pine View Spirit Week!
Monday
The week began with “decades day.” Each class dressed in a style from past decades: Freshmen were the 60s, Sophomores the 90s, Juniors the 80s, and Seniors the 70s. After the school day ended, students gathered in groups to decorate doors with Pine View’s “Ride the wave” message of the year. Each class decorated a different door on different parts of the campus with their designs and ideas.

Tuesday
Tuesday was Tie-Dye day and Disc golf. Teachers and students alike sported their multi-colored outfits. On the fields, the Seniors triumphed, leading their class to the first victory of the week.

Wednesday
There were no after-school spirit week activities Wednesday, but students came out strong for Superhero Day.
Thursday
Students came to campus dressed as tacky tourists and gathered on the fields for Soccer, with the Juniors coming out on top. Anticipation built for the upcoming dodgeball game the next day.

Friday
Every high school student was provided a free T-shirt thanks to the PVA. Students grabbed their shirts in the beginning of the day, changed into their class gear, and waited for the dodgeball game to begin after school. Due to COVID-19 precautions, the dodgeball game was held outside in the track area, as opposed to the gymnasium used in previous years.
In the dodgeball game, the seniors were crowned victors after stiff competition from the juniors, sophomores and freshmen.

Even with the challenges COVID-19 brings, Pine View and the PVA worked hard to make the week fun and safe for everyone — even those who could not be there in person.
“I’m overall really impressed with how they are trying to integrate and I know that a lot more in-person people are dressing up than the online people, but I still consistently see online people dressing up … I feel like we’re doing a really good job of trying to connect the people online and in-person,” eleventh-grader Anabella Pietryka said.
Thanks to the cooperation of school administration, the PVA, students and staff, Pine View enjoyed yet another successful spirit week. While there were still some aspects that deviated from normal years, Pine View succeeded in making this week feel special.
