Following an incidence of bats entering the roof of Building 12, the yellow building, nets have been added near the restrooms.
Assistant Principal and Construction Manager Melissa Abela has a message for teachers and parents regarding the newly-installed nets: “Please speak to your students and let them know that they MUST NOT pull down the nets….there are cameras positioned in each of these areas so if they are pulled down, we will be able to identify the person(s) responsible. We will also have additional supervision during transitions,” Abela said in an email to Pine View Faculty.
A fence has been placed around the affected portion of the building while the nets are present, alerting students to stay out of the area.
While the nets are in place, bathrooms in the yellow building are closed. Students may use the orange building or Student Union bathrooms.
Administration does not yet know when the nets will be removed, but Abela hopes the nets will be removed in a week or so. Ultimately, the safety of students and faculty comes first.
“Our goal is for the bats to find a place to roost that is safe. We also want to ensure that everyone on PV’s campus is safe,” Abela said.

Pat was really something. It’s hard to describe what she did for the kids and for the teachers. When I was moving out of technology. She was the one Who found a place for me and that place was social studies. It Turned out to be a wonderful change.
I will always love her for her support and kindness
