The noise of students being hit by vibrantly-colored foam rubber dodgeballs, combined with the roar of the crowd in the bleachers, is nothing new to Pine View: it’s a classic tradition that every student looks forward to, held this year on April 1. In addition to the renowned high school dodgeball game, there are other fun activities to look forward to. Here’s a preview of the 2021-2022 High School Spirit Week!
Monday, March 28: Decades Day
Dress like your class decade! The seniors are dressing in the 90’s style, the juniors in the 1920’s, the sophomores in the 70’s, and the freshman in the 80’s. Also, there is a doorway decorating contest: the seniors are decorating the College & Career Center doors, the juniors are decorating the media center, the sophomores decorate the main-office and quad doors, while the freshman will be decorating the student union. Finally, the penny wars start and will continue all week! The collection jars will be in the office.
Tuesday, March 29: Tie-Dye Tuesday
Wear the craziest and most extravagant tie-dye you have! At 1:15 p.m, there will be tug of war, and then ultimate frisbee will be on the fields at 1:30. If you want to tug in the war or throw frisbees, you must have a permission form (available in the front office) signed by your parent or guardian.
Wednesday, March 30: Superhero Day
What a super incredible day to dress as your favorite superhero, whether the hero is real or fictional! At 1:06 p.m. on the fields, there will be the disc golf scramble — if you want to participate, you must have the permission form completed and signed by your parent or guardian.
Thursday, March 31: Tacky Tourist Day
Today is your opportunity to dress in a crazy outfit as if you were overdressing for a vacation — go as crazy as you want with your outfit (as long as it is school appropriate), maybe even add a flamingo floatie! Take a trip to fields at 1:06 p.m. for a wild game of soccer — you must have your “passport” signed by your parent or guardian to take part.
Friday, April 1: High School Dodgeball Game
Finally, the moment we’ve all been waiting for! Purchase your dodgeball shirt with this form if you haven’t already — shirts are $10, and you must purchase one by Friday, March 25 to participate. Take part in your class’ dodgeball rally at 1:30 p.m. (locations to be determined), and get ready to play in the gym from 2-4 p.m.! Once again, you must have a permission form signed by your parent or guardian if you want to play.
