The following announcement was made over the intercom this morning:
Today, officials of the National Merit Scholarship Program announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 68th National Merit Scholarship Program.
High school juniors across the nation entered the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2021 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which served as an initial screen of program entrants. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest scoring entrants in each state.
These academically talented high school seniors have the opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,250 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million to be offered next spring.
This year Pine View School is proud to recognize and celebrate the 30 members of the senior class who accomplished this impressive feat.
