Starting this school year, Allison Rini is taking on the role as new Assistant Principal for grades 2-5, taking over from previous Assistant Principal Erin del Castillo, who left Pine View to become principal of Venice Elementary School.
Prior to coming to Pine View, Rini has had experience with teaching and administrative work. “I started working in New York City with fourth- and fifth-graders for five years before working in the Virgin Islands as a teacher for two years,” Rini said. She continued her work as a teacher when she moved to Sarasota in 2010, teaching at Island Village Montessori. After three years of teaching, she became the principal of Island Village for two years.
According to Rini, working at Pine View has always been a dream. “I have wanted to work at Pine View ever since I moved to Sarasota,” she said. Because of this, Rini began obtaining all the gifted qualifications necessary to work at Pine View in preparation for a future opening. “When I saw there was an opening I got really interested and knew I wanted to apply,” Rini said.
Since Rini is now the Assistant Principal for grades 2-5, she is taking over responsibilities such as the Alta Vista book drive, drill practices and working with campus aides. “I am so excited to work with the aides because they are so dedicated to the kids and it’s just awesome to work together,” Rini said.
