In a weekend spent improving their diplomatic skills 38 Pine View students attended the Miami International Conference for the Simulation of the United Nations (MICSUN) as part of a Model United Nations (MUN) trip.
Students participated in a simulation of the United Nations, acting as representatives of their respective nations. They had the opportunity to participate in assembly committees like the Special Political and Decolonization Committee and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. In a less traditional setting students were also able to take part in crisis committees modeled on fictional situations like a Hunger Games based situation.
Following the conference next year’s MUN president Alex Anacki said, “Pine View brought our largest ever delegation to MICSUN, and did well even against top ranked and international teams. We are incredibly proud of our success this season and can’t wait to see how well we do moving forward.”
